Large Stream Bed

$50.00

This is the product of a stream-building exercise. Measuring 32 inches by 12 inches at the extremes, you’ll notice it’s basically a curved wedge shape. It’s intended to be installed on a flat surface, with the wide edge at the front of the layout. The taper and curve of the piece are there so you can have the stream bend toward the back of your layout, where you can blend it into the backdrop. This way, the stream looks like its emerging from the backdrop and lowing toward the front of the layout. If you have the room for a big chunk of scenery like this, it is a striking effect.

With careful dry brush painting (or the use of light colored felt tip markers) it’s easy to make the boulders and gravel stand out against the background. If you want to add a watery appearance to the scene, any of the commercially available water compounds (Woodland Scenics Realistic Water, Envirotex, etc.) are compatible with the stream bed.
